Entertaining the Elderly

Every 6 months, about 50 local elderly citizens from Merton and Wandsworth are invited to the Temple for an afternoon of fun and entertainment provided by our children and youth, with tea and snacks specially prepared by our volunteers. These afternoons are very successful and are enjoyed by young and old alike. Our intergenerational work is also enhanced by the children  visiting some of our local care homes and helping to create memories with the residents there.

We also have organised visits by local members of Age UK Merton and ‘Merton’s University of the 3rd Age’ (an organisation focussing on lifelong learning and social activities).
